The Payphone Management System (PMS) is administration software for public telephone network. In addition to monitoring the public telephone in its network, it can also diagnose common problems and permit routine servicing from a central location.

Its features include:

»   General management and inventory functions (including recording a
     station’s physical location, assigned telephone number.)

»   Retrieval of public telephone usage information, statistical analysis of error information,     and storage of all information on a historical database.
»   Remote system diagnostics. Any malfunction at a public telephone terminal is noted,     and sources of the problem can be investigated before a repair crew is dispatched.
»   Control of the frequency of information retrieval from public telephone terminals.
»  Control of tariff rates from a central location (Coin/Card rates, long distance tariffs,     time and day discounts.)
»   Printing of user – definable report.

The Payphone Management System TM-350 is designed as two tiers hierarchical system consisting of:

(i)   National server (NS)-only one in entire network
(ii)  Remote Management System (RMS)- on e per region
